Each feature of Cordfence has a different impact on your Discord server. Here are some best practices to consider for each feature:

Block Bots​

  • Safety: Safe
  • Recommended: Yes

CAPTCHAs are an effictive way to prevent bots from accessing your server while allowing real users in.

Block Suspicious IPs​

  • Safety: Use with Caution
  • Recommended: Only if needed

Only enable this feature when you have a specific reason to block suspicious IP addresses to prevent accidental blocking of legitimate users.

Block Alt Accounts​

  • Safety: Use with Caution
  • Recommended: Only if needed

Only enable this feature if you have a concern about users exploiting alternate accounts. Set a threshold minimum of 4 users per IP to prevent accidental blocking of legitimate users.

Block VPNs and Proxies​

  • Safety: Use with Caution
  • Recommended: Only if needed

Only enable this feature when you need to prevent users from accessing your server via VPNs or proxies. Be mindful that some legitimate users may use VPNs for privacy reasons.

Block Countries​

  • Safety: Safe
  • Recommended: Only if needed

Use this feature if you want to restrict access to specific countries for language or cultural reasons. Blocking countries can be a safe way to create a targeted community, but consider potential implications.
