Getting Started
Cordfence is a tool that helps you protect your Discord server from VPNs, alt-accounts, and more. To setup Cordfence in your own server, follow these steps.
Step 1: Add Cordfence Bot to Your Server
- Go to the Cordfence website.
- On the home page, locate the "Add Cordfence Bot" button.
- Login to your Discord account that owns the server you would like to add Cordfence to.
- Choose the Discord server you want to add Cordfence to from the drop-down menu.
- Follow the prompts to authorize Cordfence to join your server.
Step 2: Disable Invite Creation for All Members
- On your Discord server, navigate to the server settings by clicking on the server name.
- Select the "Roles" tab from the left sidebar.
- Find the "@everyone" role and click on it.
- Toggle off the "Create Instant Invite" permission for the "@everyone" role. This ensures that only Cordfence-generated invites can be used to join the server.
Step 3: Login to Cordfence Using Discord
- Return to the Cordfence website.
- Click on the "Login with Discord" button to log in using your Discord account.
- Grant the necessary permissions for Cordfence to access your server data.
Step 4: Copy Your New Server Invite Link
- Once you're logged in to Cordfence, select your Discord server from the dropdown menu (top left).
- In the Cordfence dashboard for your server, you will find the new server invite link.
- Copy the Cordfence-generated invite link by clicking the button.
Congratulations! Your Discord server is now protected by Cordfence. Users can only join your server using the Cordfence-generated invite link, ensuring a higher level of security against VPNs, alt-accounts, and other potential threats.
